Welcome to Buffalo Township. Located in Washington County, PA
Buffalo Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania, was formally established around 1799, emerging as one of the earlier townships formed after the county’s creation in 1781, with settlement in the area dating back to at least 1774-1776. It was originally formed from territory that was part of Donegal Township. It covers 20.4 squares miles and has 1,991 residents. The Caldwell Tavern, “S” Bridge, and Levi Wilson Tavern are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Public Meeting Room displays a gallery of historic photos and a mural of the “S” Bridge painted by local artist Diane Adams. Stop by and see where the Buffalo once roamed!
